Alexander Bulldogs: Schedule and players to watch

The Alexander Bulldogs get things started at Marshall on Friday, August 30. They're ready for another year and they hope they prove that they are ready to make 2024 memorable.

11/08 vs. UnitedHere are four Bulldogs to watch this season. 

X-Factor: Julius Vaughn (WR)- Vaughn is slated to be a receiver for Alexander. However, he’ll be used all over the field for the Bulldogs. He could make some appearances at quarterback and even running back. Don’t be surprised if the Bulldogs develop some packages to utilize Vaughn’s skillset.

Offensive MVP: Joe Fernandez (RB)- The Alexander Bulldogs like, scratch that, they love to run the ball. And Fernandez is expected to be the workhorse for the Navy & Gold this season. Fernandez showed flashes of brilliance last year. Now, he has a chance to flash his talents on a consistent basis.

Defensive MVP: Frankie Fuentes (LB)- Fuentes has a nose for the ball as he recorded 100-plus tackles last year. This offseason, Fuentes told LMT he hopes to record 125 tackles this season. Expect him to be all over the field for the Bulldogs. 

Newcomer: Gael Rubio (RB)- As previously mentioned, Alexander loves to run the ball. While Joe Fernandez is expected to be the primary running back, Rubio is set to get his fair share of carries, too. Don’t be surprised if he runs for 600-plus yards this season.
