Bad to the Bone BBQ is your 2025 High School BBQ Grand Champions, and our second team, Bark and Bone BBQ, brought home an impressive 4th place overall finish!

109 teams competed from across the state.

Bark and Bone BBQ: Leslie Gonzalez, Karol Blanco, Valeria Sanchez Sandoval, Jake Ledbetter, and Tristan Ibarra Flores

Guiding the flame behind the scenes: Coaches Griselda Gonzalez, Jorge Gutierrez, Kassandra Gonzalez, and Alejandro Gonzalez.

Our Grand Champion team took home a $5,000 culinary arts scholarship, a $2,000 college scholarship, a champion buckle, and a trophy.

A special shoutout to our sister schools, United and United South, who stood shoulder to shoulder with us throughout this journey. Competing alongside them was an honor and an inspiration. One district. One team. UISD strong.
